The Paris Top

CA$100.00

I’m currently making some pattern updates to this style. It’ll be back soon :~)

As always, handmade by Linh Sa Arnold in Victoria, BC.

Fabric: 100% Silk

Care: Hand wash in cold water, hang to dry.

Possible Alterations: As each piece is made to order, the strap and hem length can be made shorter or longer if needed. Just send me an email after you place your order! Please include your order number in the subject line.

Price Explanation

Time: The conception process of The Paris Top is about 3.5 hours. This includes cutting the fabric, pinning, sewing, and pressing. $52.50

Fabric: 1 metre of silk satin is $30 per metre. The Paris Top uses 1 metre. $30.00

Notions: None.

Marketing: Website Hosting Fee/Number of pieces I’d like to sell in a year = $4.00 (the USA to CAD exchange rate hurts here lol)

Packaging: Clothing tags, Paper, Mailer, etc. $2.92

Markup: The Paris Top costs me a total of $89.42 to make. I choose to sell it at $100 so that I can earn an additional $10.58 with each sale. The markup of each product allows me to cover the indirect costs of producing the blouse, such as the time and money that goes into design, pattern drafting, shooting product, purchasing and developing film, shooting, etc!

I hope this breakdown provides a little bit more insight into the conception process of a garment, and encourages you to look at all of your purchases with a bit more empowerment and intention ♥
