The Peau Nue Belfast Top
The Peau Nue Belfast Top
Black linen tank top printed in collaboration with Peau Nue. Slightly cropped to hit just above a pair of high-waist pants. Button up back detailing with wooden buttons. As each top is hand printed by Peau Nue at their studio no two will look exactly alike! They’re unique, just like you :)
As always, handmade by Linh Sa Arnold and screen printed by Peau Nue in Victoria, BC.

Ordering System
Due to the back and forth between parties that needs to occur for these beauties to happen, we will be taking orders for only 10 tops from 9:00AM on the first and third Monday of each month to 9:00AM on the following Wednesdays (48 hours). Apologies for the inconvenience of this system, but slow and steady is the case when all three makers behind the product are full time students!
Price Explanation
Time: The conception process of The Belfast Top is about 3 hours. This includes cutting the fabric, pinning, sewing, and pressing. $45
Fabric: 1 metre of linen is $30 per metre and 1 metre of cotton batiste is $19. The Belfast Top uses 0.5 metres of each. $24.50
Notions: 3 wooden buttons. $1.50
Marketing: Website Hosting Fee/Number of pieces I’d like to sell in a year = $4.00 (the USA to CAD exchange rate hurts here lol)
Packaging: Clothing tags, Paper, Mailer, etc. $2.92
Markup: The Belfast Top costs me a total of $77.92 to make. I choose to sell it at $90 (plain versions) so that I can earn an additional $12.08 with each sale. The markup of each product allows me to cover the indirect costs of producing the blouse, such as the time and money that goes into design, pattern drafting, shooting product, purchasing and developing film, shooting, etc!
Printing: I have partnered with the lovely girls at Peau Nue, Emma and Nicole, to make these tops happen! The remaining $40 of the price goes to directly to them so that they can cover their direct costs such as printing materials and labour hours, as well as indirect costs such as design development and marketing.
I hope this breakdown provides a little bit more insight into the conception process of a garment, and encourages you to approach all of your purchases with a bit more empowerment and intention ♥
